Tai Chi

Meets Mondays at 7:00 p.m. (June 26, July 10, 17, 24, & 31, and August 7, 14, 21, & 28)

If you've never tried Tai Chi, now's your chance. Described as "meditation in motion" Tai Chi can be a gentle way to fight the stress of everyday living and may have a number of health benefits. Try it and see!

 

Knitting & Crochet Club

Every Tuesday of the month, 10:00 a.m. - noon (July 11, 18, & 25 and August 1, 8, 15, 22, and 29)

Are you a knitter or crocheter looking to expand your fiber-related circle and have a bit of fun?  Grab your needles, yarn, and patterns for fun conversation and  stitching.

Mechanicsville Library Book Club

Meets the third Wednesday of every month, 1:00 - 2:30 p.m.  (July 19 and August 30)

 

Senior Storytime

Held on the fourth Friday of every month at 10:00 a.m. (August 24)

Relax and enjoy light and lively tales at this Storytime for adults.

meets on Saturdays, 10:30 - 11:30 a.m. (July 8 and July 15)

Breakout!

Thursday, June 29, 5:30 - 7:00 p.m.

Ages 10-14. It's an Escape Room in a box! Use logic skills and solve riddles to open the locks a reveal the secret of the Breakout Box. Sign-ups required.

Pirate Adventures

Saturday, July 1, 2:00 p.m. & 4:00 p.m.

Professional pirate re-enactors will present action-packed, fun-filled hands-on activities about historical pirate life with artifacts to view and handle.

 

Summer Reading School Check-in

Calling all students from Battlefield Park and Pole Green Elementary Schools!  Stop by our library and see your school librarian and share what you've been reading this summer.  Play board games and enjoy snacks provided by the Friends of the Mechanicsville Library, too!

Learn about myths, bat habitats, and food preferences, and how they benefit us. Hear echolocation demonstrated using a bat detector on a live bat, too!

 

"Splash of Color!" Photography Contest

Calling all amateur photographers!  From Tuesday, August 1 through Saturday, August 19, submit your digital photos to ask@pamunkeylibrary.org (one photo per photographer please).  Photos will be posted to the library's Facebook page where folks can like their favorites.
