Make Your Own Sock Monster

Wednesday, October 25, 5:00 - 6:00 p.m.

Ages 5-10. Learn how to make an awesome monster using just a sock, buttons, felt, needle, and thread.  It's a great silly, spooky way to get ready for Halloween!

 

Ashland Library's Anniversary Open House

Saturday, November 11, Noon - 3:00 p.m.

Celebrate 20 years of library service at 201 S. Railroad Ave. with memories of our "Book Brigade" as volunteers moved the library book by book across the tracks.  Join us at 2:00 p.m. for a special performance of "Two Tellers Telling" sharing library stories of the past, part of "Celebrate!: A Storytelling Series for Adults." 

 

Teen Trivia

Thursday, November 16, 5:00 - 6:00 p.m.

Ages 11-18.  Are you full of useful (or not so useful) information?  Have we got the place for you!  Compete against your friends, win prizes, and see who's the ultimate trivia champ.

 

Book Tasting

Saturday, November 18, 1:00 - 2:00 p.m.

Grades K-5.  Want to find a new book to read?  Try a sample of recommendations at our Book Tasting!  Browse 6-8 books, rate them, and check out the ones you really love.

 

Computer Basics Class

Tuesday, November 21, 10:00 a.m. - noon

Covers beginning computer skills like finding out about the parts of a computer, learning how to use a mouse, beginning to explore & search the Internet, and how to create and save documents with Microsoft Word 2010. Call 804-798-4072 or visit the library to sign up for this class.

 

Metal Stamping Fun

Tuesday, December 5, 7:00 - 8:30 p.m.

Ages 18 & up. Join us for metal stamping fun, just in time for the holidays!  Make a nametag, jewelry, dog tags, or something of your own creation.  Call or visit the library to sign up.

Refreshments provided by the Friends of the Ashland Library.

 

Button Mania

Thursday, December 14, 5:00 - 6:00 p.m.

Ages 11-18.  Express yourself with a personalized button!  Make some for yourself or to give to friends. Supplies provided, but you can bring your own designs, clippings, etc. to use.

 

Stuffed Animal Sleepover

Friday, December 15, 10:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m. (drop-off)

Saturday, December 16, 10:00 - 11:00 a.m. (program)

Grades K-5. Drop off your favorite stuffie on Friday, then join us Saturday morning to find out what they did overnight.  Call or visit the library to sign up.

 

Learning Microsoft Word Class
